Advertised departure times are listed as the time we pick up at hotels in Reykjavík. Please be ready for pickup at the advertised time.
If you have your own transportation you´ll need to be at the farm no later than 9:40 or 13:40. No confirmation fee is charged. We do reserve the right to alter or cancel tours, typically this is only done in wintertime in very bad weather.
Payment can be made through our website, at booking centers, travel agencies, hotels or at the farm. We do not charge confirmation fees.
Full refunds are given to any reservation cancelled up to 2 days prior to departure. Should you miss your tour for any reason we offer the option of joining the next available tour but a missed appointment is not refundable.
Multi Day Tours:
Cancellations must be received two weeks prior to departure for a full refund.
If any of our tours do not depart the client is eligible for a full refund.
Please note that riding is at your own risk.
Children under 6 years old generally can not join the tours at Laxnes unless they have experience and are approved by the staff. Minimum age for the tours in Viðey Island is 5 years old. Younger children can be lead either at Laxnes farm or Viðey.
Please inform our staff before the ride if you have any physical condition which might affect your riding abilities.
People under the influence of alcohol or drugs are not permitted on our tours.
In the event that we divide a group parents are welcome to leave their children in the care of the guides if they are comfortable doing so, but informing both guide and child is advisable.
We have a very large selection of horses suited for every level of experience and our tours are suited for all levels. In order to choose the right horse for you we will need as much accurate information about your experience as possible. A typical beginners horse for example is slow and docile while a horses for advanced riders can be very powerful and hard to hold if you´re not familiar with the controls.
Remember to take out travel insurance before your journey. Residents of the EU/EEA countries should bring their European Health Insurance Card (E-111 form) in case of illness and need for medical care.
Used riding gear
Any used riding gear must be disinfected. You can find all the information about how and what to use at www.mast.is
We supply boots, helmets and rain gear or overall snowsuits. Dress according to weather. Gloves and good socks are important in winter time.
Laxnes Horse Farm reserves the right to alter routes, itineraries or timetables without prior notice, should the necessity arise. Tour distance and time for example can change due to poor weather conditions. No liability is accepted for loss or expenses due to delays or changes of arrival or departures of flights or other services, injury, sickness, accident, strikes, damage, negligence, weather, volcanic eruptions or other causes outside the control of Laxnes Horse Farm. All such losses and expenses are the personal liability of the traveler.
